 I am Sifu Jason and I train at Lee’s Chinese Martial Arts Federation.  I am a Black Belt and a licenced Instructor by Master Lee.  I teach real self-defense. That means deflecting attacks, not punching the other person faster or harder then they hit you or wrist holds that take a few seconds to setup and only work when they grab you a certain way. So many schools say they teach self-defense and base it on rules. But, you learn self-defense because people don't obey the rules. Out in the street people bite, gouge eyes, kick your groin, and anything they can think of to get you down and out. That means you can't count on muscle power or grabbing your gun in time to defend yourself.  It requires us to establish fighting instinct and control of your own power.

I am also willing to spar or touch hands with anyone who is interested in learning kung fu for self-defense or wants to test my skill. In addition, to show you real self-defense I will not hit you when you try to hit me with whatever force you want.  Whether you have had 30 years experience in full contact tournaments (whatever style you studied), plain old street fighting, UFC, Karate, or maybe you have never been in a fight in your life.  I cannot tell you how many martial arts instructors in this country say they teach martial arts and self-defense but can't fight or defend themselves without hurting the other person or risking themselves getting hurt. They do not practice it against people they don't know:  as the expression goes, “It doesn’t hold water.”

The Kung Fu lifesyle is based on Jesus Christ and putting His word in our lives everyday.  He has brought me into this world to teach His children to protect themselves against evil, whether spiritual or physical.  The Bible says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." As a Christian I believe in turning the other cheek but, I don't believe God wants us to keep turning our cheeks and let people walk all over us and take advantage of us.  When you know good defense, you know how to control your opponants power, energy, and direction as well as your own, without being afraid.  Kung Fu helps us to remain calm.  It also helps manage stress by expressing the energy in a positive way instead of drinking, partying, and other immoral behaviors.  You also gain more control over your mind so you may remain calm in stressful situations.  That is why He gave us Wing Chun Fut to prevent more damage than necessary to your attacker and keep yourself from injury at the same time.
